Merrin, welcome to our family!

We went to the Civil Affairs office to receive the babies. We walked in and they were all in the room waiting for us, we spotted Merrin right away. She was ok at first and then started to cry and babble while sitting on her nannie's lap. We were the last of the couples to receive our baby, but the hand offs are extremly quick so we did not have to wait long. She is beautiful and a peanut and we love her! It was a tough bus ride to the affairs office- it was only 15minutes but it seem alot longer as we were all just very anxious. Our guide XiXi said that this was a wondeful day for us, one that we had waited so long for, but for the babies it was hell for them because the ride to the affairs office was about a 3 1/2 hour bus ride snd they had never been in a car and were handed to people who don't look, smell or sound like them. She is doing well, she cried when she was handed to us and then fell asleep until we got back to the hotel..She awoke and cried more. She likes to be held and likes to walk around. She drank a little water and ate steamed egg and congee mixed together and she also drank some formula. I did get her to laugh and play peek a boo with her, it was just too cute! We are waiting to go meet with the nannies to ask questions and then we will all go to dinner with the babies. We love and miss everyone and we can't wait for everyone to meet Merrin.
