Email from Wendy on Sunday around 5:30pm New Orleans time

Hey we were finally able to connect!!! I am hoping after gotcha day (which is in 4 1/2 hours!!!!)

We arrived in Changsha which is different then Beijing. This is the capital of Hunan province, it is very big much different then I thought, but they said we are seeing the real China. Our other families we are with are all so great! We had dinner last night and it was really good and spicy!! Hunan is known for their spicy food so Merrin is known as one of the spicy girls. There are not too many westerners in this area at all so we are stared at but it does not bother us. We were given cards last night stating why we are here and that we are adopting so today when we are all walking around with our babies people will really be looking and wondering and our guide XiXi said they will try to come up a figure out why we have an Asian baby.

I can't believe we get Merrin in 4 1/2 hours. When we came up to our room after check in we had a crib, a baby bath tub and I just keep thinking I can't believe we are in China and this is really happening!! We have had not too much sleep, including the night before we lef,t but I feel surprisingly better then you would think!! I am going to try to send pictures in a little bit but I wanted to make sure this works. It is Monday morning here so when we get our babies it will be 10:30 pm Sunday for you guys.

OK Love ya'll and we are praying we can post pictures later of Merrin!!!

Brady and I were just looking at pictures of "Baby Merrin," and we can't believe you will have her in a few hours! I asked him what he wanted to tell you, and he said, "Hi joeywenny!" I cannot wait to hear about the moment you hold her!

We are trying to keep your Mom posted!
